Friendships

Friends come and go in our lives and many only stay for a brief moment, and as time passes memories fade and once in a while something will trigger that memory and you think to yourself, "Wow, I had forgotten about her".  Those friends are like tender flowers; they easily fade away, like a petal in the wind.....

Then there are those friendships that just end, for no particular reason, other than that perhaps you needed one another for a brief moment, and once your needs are fulfilled; the friendship slowly fades.  No hard feelings; good memories and you might keep in contact.  Those friends are seasonal; like a colorful short-lived annual that brings sunshine into your life for a brief period.

Then there is the friendship that no matter how long it's been since you last spoke, you always seem to pick up where you left off.  Like soul-mates.  You know that each time you meet this friend, time stands still, and you'll leave with a wonderful feeling of contentment and with your life battery fully charged.  Those are friends to be treasured.  They are part of my perennial garden.

And lastly, we have the bright, strong perennial flower who I can count on.  She stands by me, no matter what, and I know this is a keeper.   Friendships are not to be taken for granted, but rather enjoyed and nurtured to keep them flourishing and growing.  I feel truly blessed to have, and have had, such wonderful, amazing friends in my life.

Being one of your friends I have to say that it is us "flowers" that are blessed having a friend like you. For you are the sun that shine brightly on all of us!
